On Thursday, 8th October, at 7pm I was honoured to speak at a virtual rally organised by European Movement UK where I id #No2NoDeal.
As the end of the transition period grows closer and closer, it has never been more important to stand up against this government’s NoDeal agenda.
The Prime Minister has already tarnished our national reputation by tearing up his own Withdrawal Agreement and threatening to break international law. He may yet try to force through a No Deal Brexit that would put jobs, food standards, environmental protections, and our NHS at risk during a global pandemic.
But we know that this isn’t who we are, and it isn’t what we stand for.
A recent poll by Ipsos Mori revealed that 4 out of 5 people believethat a close relationship with Europe is still important, even though the UK has now left the European Union We cannot afford to standby while Boris Johnson pushes through a No Deal vision of low and high barriers.
We must act now.
That is why I was proud to speak at this virtual rally, where I was joined by a range of speakers including:
- Lord Michael Heseltine, former Deputy PrimeMinister
- Polly Toynbee, Guardian columnist, former BBC SocialAffairs Editor
- Stephen Farry MP, Deputy Leader of the Alliance Partyof Northern Ireland
...and many more, including both representatives of parties from across the UK and local activists!
Over 10,000 people attended the #No2NoDeal virtual rally in June, but this one was even bigger.
We have stopped a no Deal Brexit before, and with your help
we can do it again.
Kind regards,
Caroline Lucas MP
